For you formed my inward parts;
    you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Wonderful are your works
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
    intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written,
every one of them, the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.

Psalm 139:13-16

It's a GIRL! We are in love all over again.
Can you believe this miracle? It is absolutely stunning to behold brand new life. So important, so joyful, such a thing to be a part of indeed. We are thankful to God for our sweet daughter.  I thought she'd come out boy, but as soon as we saw she was a girl there was nothing else for all time that could have been more perfect than GIRL.  Clearer pictures are coming, y'all...but I can assure you she is every bit the dark hair, (baby) blue-eyed stunner.  The Lord chose just right, yet again, who to add to our family and Miss Ivy's place with us is already something I can't believe I didn't have 24 hours ago...it feels like she's always been here. The book of Psalms says that her days are known and she was created on purpose.  Meeting her today and feeling the eternal weight of her tiny soul only confirmed again that she was created by God and her life is a gift to cherish. Welcome sweet one...and Happy Birthday!
The most blessed Mama and Daddy on the face of the planet. Happy Birthday Ivy!
Everyone got a chance to hold her. Though somebody took an extra extra long turn. That same somebody has also upped the anty on how many kisses are possible to give a new little sister at any given second.
So glad these grandparents didn't have to fly back to the US this weekend without meeting her!
And because the Rivers live in the real world, here's all the proof anyone needs that this latest addition to our crazy is just what we've been needing. 100% Grade A Rivers. Welcome Ivy!

  1. Isaiah looks like he's in love with his baby sister. Immanuelle looks big all of a sudden! And little Ivy is a doll. (I LOVE the name!! My great grandma was Iva, I don't know why Ivy was not on my radar for name guesses!)
